The hottie Priyanka Chopra starred opposite Bollywood heartthrob Shahid Kapoor in the film, Kaminey in 2009. Here’s a look at how she fared…

Kaminey (2009) was a dark comedy that was filmed by multifaceted director Vishal Bhardwaj starring Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in main roles. Ronnie Screwvala of UTV Motion Pictures produced the film.

Priyanka Chopra managed to pull off her role as the strong-willed and feisty Marathi girl, Sweety, with aplomb. She was very much in sync with her character and got her Maharashtrian accent right too. She played the sister of a powerful local goon Bhope. She displayed sizzling chemistry with co-star Shahid Kapoor and even enacted some intimates scenes with him in the film. She emerged as one of the film’s most impressive characters. She was remarkable in her body language and did justice to her role.

She hardly wore too much make up in the film. Her role as Sweety was that of a college-goer in her early 20s. For this reason, Vishal Bhardwaj wanted her to look as realistic and natural as possible. When asked whether she had any apprehensions going the de-glam way for the film, Priyanka Chopra quipped, ”Not at all. It was a conscious decision. I have always strived to do different things in each and every film of mine, be it with the character or the look.”
Chopra was born in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand to Ashok Chopra and Madhu Akhauri, both physicians by profession. Chopra spent her childhood in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh; Newton, Massachusetts; and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her father was in the army and thus her family moved
